Nanny's Legacy

Created by Charley 7 years ago
I remember Nanny teaching me how to play "Oh When the Saints" on the piano when I was little; teaching me to knit scarves; teaching me how to mold robins out of clay. I remember watching the blue tits and green finches on the birdfeeder outside the windows in greenacres with her, and feeding the carp in the koi pond. Nanny influenced so many positive things in my life and for that I will be eternally grateful. Her creative influence will flow through our family forever. I have found these creative vices; art, music and also the natural world to be some of the best things in life, the most rewarding, calming, and enjoyable. I owe a lot of my creative abilities and in part my love for nature to her and that I will also cherish forever.
Another thing Nanny taught me which I will never forget is the value of family, and our family in particular. Through famjo with her brilliant skits with Jen to her enthusiasm and encouragement for all us (granddaughters, grandsons, nieces, nephews) to try new things and excel, she was just an outstanding person. We were so lucky to have her. I will miss her but more than anything I will celebrate her, how she was cheerful, potty peg right up to the end. She and Dave will be having a tipple and smiling down on us.
